Middle and high school students, along with their families, are invited to attend a Career and Technical Education Expo hosted by Sen. Jarrett Coleman (R-16) and Upper Bucks County Technical School (UBCTS) on Thursday, Oct. 9. The event will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. at UBCTS, located at 3115 Ridge Rd. in Perkasie.

The expo is intended to help students explore career paths as they approach or enter high school. “As students enter high school, they are faced with having to decide in what manner they will join the workforce in the future,” said Coleman. “This can come as a real challenge for them, which is why our career and technical education expo serves as a valuable resource. This expo gives students the opportunity to have in-person discussions with exhibitors representing various job fields and gain guidance as to what career path they ultimately want to follow.”

The event is organized in partnership with state representatives Shelby Labs (R-143) and Craig Staats (R-145). Labs commented on the importance of such opportunities: “Career and technical education equips students with real-world skills that lead to meaningful careers and strong communities,” she said. “I am proud to partner with Senator Coleman and Representative Staats to support this expo and the opportunities it offers students and families across Upper Bucks.”

Staats also highlighted local educational strengths: “Our community is fortunate to have strong career and technical education programs that prepare students for real opportunities,” he said. “This expo gives families a chance to see the many paths available and to connect with the people who help make those futures possible.”

Dr. Michael Herrera, Executive Director of UBCTS, will be present at the event to discuss educational programs offered by UBCTS. He stated, “UBCTS is proud to partner with employers and community leaders to strengthen our region’s workforce,” adding that “this expo highlights the powerful role of career and technical education in preparing students for in-demand careers that support thriving communities.”

Exhibitors at the event will represent multiple areas within the Career and Technical Education curriculum, including Computer Science, Construction, Transportation, Human Services, Agriculture, Advanced Manufacturing, Culinary Arts, Life & Health Services.

For more information or questions about attending or exhibiting at the event, interested parties can contact Robert Arena (Coleman), Will Patterson (Staats and Labs), or Dr. Michael Herrera (UBCTS).
