Senator Jarrett Coleman, an active social media user, recently shared several updates via his Twitter account. These tweets address topics ranging from state budget information to a warning about ongoing scams targeting Pennsylvanians.
On June 2, 2025, Senator Coleman reminded constituents of the importance of staying informed about fiscal matters by directing them to the State Budget webpage. He tweeted: “June is here! Stay informed by visiting our State Budget webpage for the latest updates on how your tax dollars are being spent.”
The following day, June 3, 2025, Senator Coleman issued a scam alert regarding fraudulent text messages impersonating PennDOT or the “Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Motor Vehicles (DMV).” In his tweet, he warned: “SCAM ALERT Scammers are targeting Pennsylvanians with fake text messages claiming to be from PennDOT or the ‘Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Motor Vehicles (DMV)’ about unpaid traffic tickets. These messages are a scam.”
In a subsequent tweet posted moments later on June 3, 2025, Senator Coleman clarified that PennDOT does not communicate violations or fines through text messages. He advised recipients of such messages not to respond and provided resources for those seeking more information or assistance if they have been targeted by this scam. He stated: “PennDOT does not send texts about violations or fines. If you receive one of these messages, do not respond. To learn more about this scam, or if you were a victim of this scam please visit:”
