Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf supports legislation that would expand rights for LGBTQIA+ groups.
HB 1510 would amend the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act to include gender identity and expression as well as sexual orientation in the Act.
“LGBTQIA+ rights are human rights — every Pennsylvanian deserves to be protected,” Wolf wrote in a Feb. 4 Twitter post.
This bill hasn’t had any consideration since 2015.
According to a map by the Movement Advance Project, only 35% of Pennsylvanians live under local nondiscrimination ordinances.
Approximately 4.1% of Pennsylvania adults have identified as LGBTQ, according to a 2019 Gallup Poll.
