FOIA Request Sent to Allentown Police Pension Fund Regarding 2023 Pension Rosters on September 20, 2024

FOIA Request to Allentown Police Pension Fund Regarding Comprehensive Details of Active and Retired Employees in the 2023 Pension Rosters on September 20, 2024.

In a bid to promote transparency and hold public institutions accountable, we at Lehigh Times have sent a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the Allentown Police Pension Fund. The request was made under the Pennsylvania Right to Know Law, with the aim of obtaining comprehensive details about both active and retired employees listed in their pension fund for the year 2023.

The information sought includes last name, first name, middle name, date of birth, employer name, employment start date, employment end date, salary details, compensation type and amount. We also requested for additional data such as the year of record, process date, last disbursement amount, disbursement frequency and contribution amount for the year 2023.

As a media organization committed to providing accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, access to these public records is essential for us. This information will aid us in fulfilling our professional responsibilities which include providing transparency to the public and holding public institutions accountable.

We believe that as members of the media involved in gathering and reporting news to the public we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals. We await a positive response from the Allentown Police Pension Fund regarding this request.
