Senate President Pro Tempore Kim Ward has reappointed Senator Jarrett Coleman as chair of the Senate Intergovernmental Operations Committee for the 2025-26 legislative session. The committee is responsible for reviewing proposals aimed at restructuring and streamlining state government operations.

Ward emphasized the importance of effective governance, stating, “People deserve to have a government that effectively serves them and uses taxpayer dollars wisely, which is the reason I have asked Sen. Coleman to continue in his role as chair of the Senate Intergovernmental Operations Committee.” She praised Coleman's experience in promoting transparency and reducing wasteful spending, noting it positions Pennsylvanians for prosperity.

Coleman previously chaired the committee during the 2023-24 legislative session after being elected to the State Senate in November 2022. Reflecting on his past term, Coleman remarked, “Last session, under my guidance, the committee advanced legislation to reduce the regulatory burden that hampers job growth and assess the effectiveness of workforce development programs in Pennsylvania.” He also mentioned efforts to enhance transparency with initiatives like those involving Allentown's Neighborhood Improvement Zone.

For those interested in following upcoming meetings and hearings or reviewing pending legislation, information will be available on the Senate Intergovernmental Operations Committee’s website. Videos and details from previous sessions are currently accessible online.
