LCCC Holds 27th Annual Foundation Scholarship Golf Classic

Golf

Lehigh Carbon Community College issued the following announcement on July 22.

The Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC) Foundation will hold its 27th annual golf classic on Monday, Oct. 11, promoting the theme of “Together,” returning this year to bring golfers and the community together again in support of LCCC students. The tournament will be held at the Steel Club in Hellertown. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the COVID-19 Student Emergency Fund, which assists with expenses related to food, housing and utilities, transportation, childcare, healthcare and more.

This year’s title sponsor is Miers Insurance, which has also been supporting the COVID-19 Student Relief Fund since the inception. They have been active in raising funds and supplies for the college’s food pantry, and making deliveries of pallets of supplies that will benefit students who are experiencing food insecurity. Honorary co-chairs for the tournament are Rocky Gencarelli, president and CEO of Miers Insurance; and Ryan Amey, vice president and principal at Miers.

Over the past 26 years, the LCCC Foundation Golf Classic has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for student scholarships, giving members of the community an opportunity to support students while enjoying a day out with friends.

Registration fee is $300 for an individual golfer, which includes green fees, cart, continental breakfast, lunch on the patio and promotional gift for every golfer. Golfer registration begins at 8 a.m. Golfers will play a scramble format with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. and conclude with lunch on the patio and awards.

Many sponsorship and advertising opportunities are still available, ranging from the $5,000 premier sponsor level to tee sponsor for $250, with a variety of levels in between. Golfers will also have the opportunity to purchase a super ticket package, which includes a one-week stay at a vacation home in Pinehurst, NC, providing unlimited access to courses 1-6 including the famous #2 course.

Deadline to register is Oct. 1. For more information, please call 610-799-1929, email jwilchak@lccc.edu or visit the website at www.lccc.edu/golf.
