Lehigh Carbon Community College issued the following announcement on Sept. 10.
Lehigh Carbon Community College and Aspen University announce a new transfer agreement that provides LCCC graduates in the Associate in Applied Science in Nursing program a uniquely affordable and flexible pathway for furthering their education and advancing their nursing careers.
Aspen University’s CCNE-accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing Completion Program builds on the solid liberal arts education and nursing instruction provided by LCCC and prepares nurses for a broad scope of practice with understanding of the cultural, political, economic and social issues that affect patients and influence care delivery. As a 100% online program, Aspen University’s BSN Completion Program is accessible 24/7, and consists of eight-week courses and start dates every two weeks, providing needed scheduling flexibility for working adults.
This agreement assures that LCCC students who successfully complete the Nursing A.A.S. program and pass the N-CLEX exam will be accepted into Aspen University’s program, as well as be awarded a full 90 credits toward their BSN degree.
Aspen University has among the lowest cost of attendance, and for the final 10 courses/30 credits that a transfer student takes at Aspen to earn their BSN, LCCC transfer students will receive a 10% tuition discount, bringing that cost down to $9,575.
Finally, to make the Aspen University degree as affordable as possible, as an alternative to taking out student loans, the university offers students an optional 0% interest, no money down, monthly payment plan of $250.
“Students pursuing their bachelor’s degree in nursing will have flexible options at Aspen University, thanks to this agreement,” says LCCC president Dr. Ann D. Bieber. “LCCC graduates will build on their strong foundation and will be able to enter the Aspen program fully prepared and ready to continue their education in this demanding field. We are honored to facilitate this option for our graduates and to work as partners with Aspen University.”
"Because of our shared student and community-centric values, we at Aspen University are excited to embark on an alliance with Lehigh Carbon Community College,” says Aspen University’s Dean of Nursing Dr. Nina Beaman. “Together we can provide a high-quality, affordable and flexible pathway for nursing students to further advance their educational goals.”
