Runners and Walkers Recruited for LCCC Foundation 5K/10K Fall Fitness Fest

Fr

Lehigh Carbon Community College issued the following announcement on Sept. 29.

Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC) and its Foundation will host the Fall Fitness Fest, Live and Virtual 5K and 10K event, Oct. 18 to 23 to benefit LCCC students and the college’s food pantry.

Because this is both a live and virtual event, instructions differ, but registration can be made for either event here.

Participants of the Virtual 5K Run/Walk or the Virtual 10K Run can complete it anywhere – in their neighborhood, on the trail, around the track. Participants can also decide when they complete the event anytime between Oct. 18 and Oct. 23.

Use a fitness tracking app or wearable device such as a Fitbit or Apple Watch to track your time. Once completed, download your recorded time and send your results to foundation@lccc.edu no later than 6 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 24. Results should include: Hr:Minute:Sec along with your full name, city/town and state, as well as photos.

LCCC’s live event will take place on Saturday, Oct. 23, rain or shine, on a challenging, picturesque route on the college’s main campus in Schnecksville. Registration begins at 8 a.m., with the 10K run starting at 9 a.m. and the 5k Run/Walk at 9:10 a.m. Prizes will be awarded at the conclusion. First 100 registrants will receive a free t-shirt. Free food will be available.

The race is geared to motivate you, friends, family, LCCC students and alumni, as well as the community to get out and exercise, while keeping safe and maintaining social distance and raising funds to benefit LCCC students. Last year’s Fall Fitness Fest and the Virtual Dinner Party were combined, raising $26,254 for both events.

Entry fee to the public for the 5K and 10K is $25 per person. LCCC Alumni and students, and the military with ID pay $5.

For more information, visit www.lccc.edu/fallfest or contact Jane Wilchak, LCCC’s special events manager, at jwilchak@lccc.edu or at 610-799-1929.
