Cedar Crest College Athletics issued the following announcement on Oct. 19.
The Cedar Crest College volleyball team took down Keystone College, claiming their eighth straight victory on Tuesday night in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) on Tuesday evening at Lees Gymnasium.
The Falcons defeated the Giants in three sets, (25-10, 25-14 and 25-18). Cedar Crest improves to 14-5 overall and 7-0 in conference play.
The Falcons led in every statistical category, scoring 55 points, 37 kills, 59 digs, 34 assists, and 16 service aces. Cedar Crest would post a .216 hitting percentage.
Sophomore Ava Grapsy (Macungie, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) led the way in the kills category, registering 11 to go along with 12 assists and eight digs. Classmate Maddison Minyo (Covington, Pa./North Penn-Mansfield) contributed a near double-double with nine kills and 10 digs. Freshman Alexis Cummins (Stafford, Va./Colonial Forge) followed with eight kills and 11 digs. Senior Talia Watson (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton) dished out a match-best 17 assists to go along with five service aces, while graduate student chipped in a match-high 22 digs.
Cedar Crest will look to extend its win streak on Thursday, October 21 at St. Elizabeth University. The match is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. Keystone (1-17 overall, 0-5 CSAC) will stay on the road and will head to Wilson College on Friday, October 22 for a 6:00 p.m. match.
