Cedar Crest College Athletics issued the following announcement on Nov. 1.
A pair of Cedar Crest College volleyball student-athletes were named to the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Honor Roll in the release of its weekly awards on Monday afternoon.
Sophomore Maddison Minyo (Covington, Pa./North Penn-Mansfield) led the Falcons on the offensive end with two double-doubles in sweeps of Cairn and Marywood. She put up 13 kills and 12 digs in the victory over the Highlanders and then again had 13 kills to go along with 14 digs in the sweep of the Pacers.
Classmate Rebekka Sanchez-Castro (Laurel, Md./Atholton) joins Minyo on the Honor Roll after she had back-to-back matches with double digit digs. She tallied 11 digs, two assists, and one service ace in the 3-0 victory over Cairn and then closed the day with 12 digs and three service aces in the win over Marywood. She also had a serving run of 16 straight points.
Minyo, Sanchez-Castro, and Cedar Crest have secured the No. 1 seed for the CSAC Championship Tournament and will host the lowest seed from the quarterfinal winners on Thursday, November 4 at 7:00 p.m.
