Cedar Crest College Athletics issued the following announcement on Nov. 13.

The Cedar Crest College cross country program ran its last race of the 2021 campaign, competing at the NCAA Division III Metro Regional Championships, hosted by Rowan University at Gloucester County DREAM Park on Saturday afternoon.

The Falcons finished the meet in 20th of the 24 schools that had enough cross the finish line to warrant a team score. Seven members of the Cedar Crest squad recorded times in the meet, all contributing to the 594 points the team scored.

The first Falcon to cross the finish line was freshman Jonquil Loeffelholz (Bellingham, Wash./Sehome), finishing in 79th in a time of 25:16.8, which gives her the fourth-best time in program history in a 6K race. Junior Lillie Jones (Wilmington, Del./DelCastle Technical) followed with a time of 27:14.8. Junior Emily Kern (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth Area) was the third Cedar Crest runner to register a time, finishing the 6-kilometer race in 28:07.4. Junior Saige Sterner (Jim Thorpe, Pa./Jim Thorpe Area) registered a time of 29:52.4. Sophomore Carolyn Weiss (Long Valley, N.J./West Morris Central) closed out the top-five runners for the Falcons with a time of 31:34.8.

Freshman Jess Simins (Phillipsburg, N.J. /Warren Tech) and junior Christina Alberici (Shelton, Conn./Shelton) rounded out the runners in the field for Cedar Crest.

The cross country team finishes its 2021 campaign with its best season in program history. The Falcons captured the program's first Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Championship on October 30. Cedar Crest had four All-Conference award winners. Loeffelholz earned a spot on the First Team while Kern, Jones, and Sterner picked up Second Team All-Conference nods. Head Coach Alec Duncan was named as the CSAC Coach of the Year while Simins was selected to the All-Sportsmanship Team.
