Gov. Tom Wolf (D-PA) highlighted his educational accomplishments as he prepares for the end of his term as Pennsylvania governor.

Since taking office, the governor has Established the Public School Fair Funding Formula, which addresses the chronic inequitable and inadequate funding for schools and reduced the compulsory attendance age to 6 while raising the high school dropout age to 18, according to the Pennsylvania Governor's website.

“We've come a long way since 2015," Gov. Wolf said in a Feb. 7 tweet.

Wolf is still fighting for educational priorities. The Wolf Administration sent a letter to Pennsylvania’s Congressional Delegation urging them to support the extension of the United States Department of Agriculture’s nationwide waiver authority throughout the 2022-23 school year, according to the release.

Other investments in education that Wolf has made include $1.9 billion in funding for schools; $116 million allocated to science, computer science and technical education; over $130 million in funding for the School Safety Task Force; launching the "It's On Us PA," a prevention program that seeks to prevent sexual assault; created the Pennsylvania GI Bill that helps Pennsylvania National Guard members' spouses and children afford post-secondary education; introduced a Level Up initiative that provided funding to underfunded school districts in the state; and implemented a federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program and the Pennsylvania Student Loan Relief for Nurses (SLRN) Program to ensure state residents no longer needed to pay state income tax on student loan debt relief.

"I'm incredibly proud of the progress we've made in putting our students first," Wolf said in his Tweet. "I will continue to fight to make education a priority in my last year."

The Democratic incumbent will leave office due to maxing out his term limits of two, four-year terms. Wolf's final day serving Pennsylvania constituents will be Jan. 17, 2023.
