Cedar Crest College Athletics issued the following announcement on Apr. 4.
Freshmen Abril Riley (Levittown, Pa./Harry S. Truman ) and Tiffany Kuras (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) of the Cedar Crest College track & field program were recognized by the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) in the release of its weekly awards on Monday afternoon.
Riley, who was selected as the Track Athlete of the Week, set new personal records in the 100-and-200-meter dash events at the Muhlenberg Invitational on Saturday. She ran the 100-meter dash in 15.00 seconds and 31.65 seconds in the 200-meter event.
Kuras, who was named as the Track Athlete of the Week, finished as the runner-up in the javelin event at the Muhlenberg Invitational, breaking the program record with a mark of 36.53 meters, which also ranks tied for 34th in the country. She also competed in the discus event, placing 18th with a mark of 26.83 meters.
Cedar Crest will return to the track on Saturday, April 9 at the Ursinus Outdoor Invitational.
