Cedar Crest College Athletics issued the following announcement on Apr. 4.
Sophomore Katherine Franzone () of the Cedar Crest College tennis team was selected as the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Women's Tennis Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
Franzone led the Falcons to a pair of victories over Rosemont College, 9-0 and 5-0, on Saturday afternoon.
She turned in a 4-0 week with two wins apiece in doubles and singles over the two matches. Franzone had wins of 6-1, 6-1 and 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2 singles and was then victorious at No. 1 doubles in both matches, winning 8-1 and 8-0 in the two matches, respectively.
Cedar Crest (2-4 overall, 1-0 CSAC) will next play Wednesday, April 6 at Bryn Athyn College at 4:00 p.m.
