WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Susan Wild will serve on the Congressional-Executive Commission on China (CECC) for the 118th Congress, joining a bipartisan panel of lawmakers and Executive Branch officials in monitoring human rights and the development of the rule of law in China.
“I’m very honored to serve on the Congressional-Executive Commission on China to continue holding China accountable, something that’s long been a priority of mine,” said Congresswoman Susan Wild. “I look forward to working alongside a bipartisan group of my colleagues to take on tracking and reporting on human rights violations and the rule of law in China.”
Rep. Wild will participate in her first hearing as a member of the CECC tomorrow, Tuesday, June 13th, on North Korean Refugees and the Imminent Danger of Forced Repatriation from China. Experts on North Korean refugees and former United States and South Korean diplomats will provide testimony about the experiences of asylum-seekers in China, and what the international community can do to curtail a massive repatriation effort and resulting humanitarian crisis.
