Rep. Ryan Mackenzie is organizing a public paper shredding event on Saturday, October 26, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will take place in the parking lot of the Lower Macungie Township Complex at 3402 Brookside Road, Macungie. This initiative aims to help residents protect their identities by safely disposing of sensitive paperwork.

The township and Delizioso Italian Grill are collaborating with Mackenzie for this event. "Our shredding events are always popular with residents who want to safely dispose of their sensitive paperwork," Mackenzie stated. "It’s a quick and easy way to avoid becoming a victim of one of the country’s fastest-growing crimes – identity theft."

Residents can bring up to four boxes of documents per vehicle for shredding. Staples and paper clips do not need to be removed, but documents should be taken out of binders and notebooks. Attendees are asked to stay in their vehicles while staff and volunteers handle the unloading.

The event is intended for documents containing sensitive information only; other items should be disposed of or recycled at home. Businesses are requested to manage their document disposal independently. Due to high demand, no boxes will be accepted before the official start time.

For further details about the event, residents can contact Mackenzie’s office at 610-965-9933 or toll-free at 833-933-3675.
