State Senator Jarrett Coleman | Pennsylvania
Senator Jarrett Coleman has expressed his appreciation for the Lehigh County Voter Registration Office after they identified and rejected potentially fraudulent voter registration forms. According to Coleman, about 1,800 forms were submitted in a white box at the office on October 21, which was the deadline for voter registration.
Coleman stated, "Yesterday, I was notified by constituents that roughly 1,800 voter registration forms were dropped off in a white box at the Lehigh County Voter Registration Office on the Oct. 21 voter registration deadline. Today, I met with the Lehigh County Voter Registration Office and district attorney and learned that a large portion of the applications were rejected as potentially fraudulent."
He further mentioned that these applications might have been submitted by a group already suspected of similar activities elsewhere in Pennsylvania. "It’s our understanding that the applications were submitted by the same group that is suspected of submitting fraudulent applications elsewhere in the commonwealth," Coleman added.
The senator commended the staff at the voter registration office for their vigilance and prompt action. "I commend the voter registration staff for their hard work, diligence in reviewing applications and awareness that caught these invalid applications. The staff members’ swift referral to the district attorney’s office will ensure that voters are being protected," he said.
