City of Allentown issued the following announcement on April 30.
Department of Parks and Recreation organized field and pavilion rentals at city facilities are now suspended through the end of May.
Existing scheduled renters will be contacted regarding rescheduling of events or issuing of refunds. No further permits are being issued at this time.
On March 18, the city suspended all permits through the end of April as part of the effort to prevent the spread of the deadly COVID-19 virus. That effort continues along with Governor Tom Wolf’s stay-at-home order.
The Department of Parks & Recreation Department will continue to monitor local, state and federal guidance regarding the COVID-19 pandemic.
