DeSales University issued the following announcement.
Rev. William McCandless, OSFS, a priest with the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales, who was indicted today in federal court, worked at DeSales University as a counselor in the Wellness Center from February 1, 2017 until October 18, 2017, at which time his employment was terminated when the school first learned he was under investigation.
As this case is ongoing, the University is not able to comment further on this matter.
Consistent with the University’s mission, DeSales remains committed to maintaining a safe environment for our students and the larger community.
