A pair of Cedar Crest College field hockey student-athletes earned weekly awards from the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon.
Junior goalkeeper Brynn Rifino (Dover, Del./Smyrna) was recognized as the CSAC Defensive Player of the Week while sophomore Lauren Jackson (Ambler, Pa./Wissahickon) picked up an Honorable Mention selection. The duo led the Falcons to a 3-2 overtime victory over Eastern Mennonite University on September 11.
Rifino earns Defensive Player of the Week honors after making six saves in goal in the Falcons' first victory of the season.
Jackson earns an Honorable Mention nod after scoring the game-winning goal against the Royals in the victory on Sunday. The sophomore netted the marker just 1:49 into the extra frame to give Cedar Crest the win.
Cedar Crest (1-2 overall) will return to action on Thursday, September 15 in a road contest at Lebanon Valley College slated for a 7:00 p.m. start.
