Rep. Ryan Mackenzie is collaborating with the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General to host a scam seminar aimed at educating residents about identity theft. The event will be held on Friday, November 1, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Lower Macungie Library located at 3450 Brookside Road in Macungie.

“Scammers are becoming increasingly bold and creative, so we all need to be aware of how to protect ourselves from becoming a victim,” said Mackenzie. “Our expert will be providing valuable information on the latest schemes, including those that target older residents.”

Dave Shallcross, director of senior protection with the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General, will lead the seminar. The topics include steps to take if one becomes a victim of identity theft, tips for protecting personal information online and in daily interactions, and guidelines for spotting scams designed to steal identities.

Reservations are necessary for attending this free event. Interested individuals can make reservations by calling 610-965-9933 or registering online.
