CEDAR CREST COLLEGE: Customizable Online Graduate Program Now Accepting Students

Sageinfo1

Cedar Crest College issued the following announcement on April 11.

Cedar Crest College is now accepting students looking to advance their careers for its customizable online graduate program, Modular Master of Science (MMS). Learners select two complementary graduate certificates in specific professional areas, in addition to two core courses, and can graduate with a Master of Science in their particular areas of study. The innovative program’s first cohort begins class in the fall of 2020.

The customizable program provides working professionals with targeted professional certification choices that are in-demand by employers. This innovative stackable certificate/modular approach may also be attractive to today’s busy professional looking for a more convenient, flexible and specialized alternative to a traditional MBA program.

“The MMS program differs from an MBA in that it allows students to earn three separate credentials: two focused graduate certificates and a master's degree. Having a master's degree in business is often an employer requirement for career advancement, and our customizable approach allows students to focus on areas that specifically fill their employer's current or future needs,” said Michael Zalot, assistant professor of business and graduate programs director in Cedar Crest’s department of business, management and economics.

Three online graduate certificate options are currently available to students seeking to complete a Modular Master of Science degree:  Strategic Leadership and Analytics, Management Information Systems and Human Resources Management.

The Strategic Leadership and Analytics 12-credit graduate certificate provides students with the skills necessary to lead organizations strategically and ethically while exploring the latest analytics trends and technologies that effective managers need to achieve business objectives.

Cedar Crest’s new Management Information Systems 12-credit graduate certificate provides learners from a wide array of career fields the opportunity to gain expertise in how the strategic use of information creates value for the organization. Course topics include project management for technology and workplace automation and disruptive innovation.

The new Human Resource Management 12-credit graduate certificate focuses on understanding the strategic use of human resources within an organization. Course topics include diversity and inclusion leadership and legal and regulatory compliance, among others.

“A student can accelerate the learning and complete the entire master’s degree online in one year. Alternatively, a student can earn a certificate in one area, and then return at a later date for a second certificate and the core courses to earn the master’s degree. We are all lifelong learners now and our MMS program supports student learning in the long run,” said Zalot.

Additional certificates eligible for the Modular Master of Science will be offered in the near future that focus on areas of study that prepare graduates for life and work in a cutting-edge marketplace and an ever-changing world.
