Rep. Ryan Mackenzie (R-Lehigh) is collaborating with the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General to host a scam seminar on Thursday, Oct. 10, at Parkland Community Library in Lower Macungie. The event aims to reduce identity theft incidents in the 187th Legislative District, particularly among older residents.

The free seminar will run from 10 a.m. to noon and will include light refreshments.

“Seniors are frequent targets of these unscrupulous scammers, who are always coming up with new ways to steal their money,” said Mackenzie. “Area seniors are encouraged to join us and learn how to avoid becoming a scam victim.”

Dave Shallcross, director of senior protection with the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General, will lead the seminar. Topics will cover actions to take if one becomes a victim of identity theft, tips on protecting personal information online and in daily interactions, and guidelines for spotting scams aimed at stealing identities.

Reservations are required and can be made by calling 610-760-7082 or registering online.
